My First Farrah-do

I think this was taken in 1977 or 1978, can't remember. But - I do know two things:

1. It got bigger and longer over the years AND,

2. Jo Vick at the Lady Bug Salon is who gave me my first Farrah-do in Alpine, Texas. Jo was the coolest chick in Alpine at the time because she did good hair, had great parties, and got to go to New York all the time.

My dad had a store in Corpus Christi (where Farrah grew up) and my little sister and I would frequently take trips with him in the summer to check on the store. It was always a lot of fun because we got to stay in a hotel and he would let my little sister and I hang out at the beach while he was working. While I had my Farrah-do, my little sister had the Dorothy Hamil-do... Gotta love those 70's!!!

During those 70's summers in Corpus I would fantasize that Farrah would see me and decide I should be her little sister and take me to Hollywood to live happily ever after....

Just wanted to say thanks to Farrah for the inspiration that she gave to all of us Texas Chicks and other chicks from across the country. She was one of a kind.....

Can you remember your first Farrah-do? Would love to see pictures!

when i did my Farrah post yesterday, I looked in all my photo albums with photo of my "Farrah Hair".. but could not find one... I was a little older than you look... was married with 2 little daughters... hence... no close-ups like yours.. but there was a great photo of me with the girls on the way to church Easter morning 1981... I had great Farrah hair then!

She was a wonderful Texas gal and we'll always love her...

hugs... dixie...

ps.. we never had the right kind of hair for the Dorothy Hamill hair.. lol

So cute! I'm sure if she had only known you she would have definitely made you her younger sis and you sister's would have starred in many movies together. Thanks for making me smile today!

You looked great...I don't think I had the Farrah do but just long and feathered bangs. Will have to find a photo now that I got my scanner working.

Fun catching up with you.

Farrah - oops, I mean, Debbie - you are so sweet. I was just about to turn off the computer to take a break and your comment came through. It is easy to be intimidated these days with so much talent out there, but I do know what I love and thank you for your kind words!

I did my best but it was no where near as well done as yours! My fine, straight brown hair just couldn't emulate Farrah quite as well.

What a great picture of your Farrah Hair. And what wonderful childhood memories too. I'll miss Farrah, I liked her.

No matter what I tried, I could never, never, ever come close to your Farrah hair. The best I came up with was fine, fine doo-doo rolled curling iron hair. I wish I could post the seventh or eighth grade picture I'm talking about.

You know, Dara did a nice red-haired Farrah. And Lisa also had a good head of hair as well. Me ... not so much. I didn't know about "product" then.

Who didn't have Farrah hair? Mine never would 'do right', but I still tried.
So very sad! There go the 70's.

Yeppers I had the FArrah-do, too. Even had to have Wella Balsam shampoo/conditioner. That was the magic ingredient for getting the "do" just right!

I have pictures somewheres. I'll have to see if I can dig em up! Cute picture of you - your "do" did up right!

Oh, I had the do too. Only being a brunette, it didn't work as well as yours ;-).
I'm so excited to find out about your farm. I'm going to make a run to Fredericksburg for peaches sometime soon, so I'm going to drop by your place too if you're open (need to go back to your website to check on that?
Blessings,
GA
